Aerobatic rating

The flying that sharpens piloting: trajectory precision, ease in every attitude, mastery of g-load. The rating is entered on the licence and opens solo aerobatics.

The course comprises six hours of theory and eleven dual sessions on the Extra 330LX, for a minimum of five flight hours. It covers the basic figures — loop, roll, hammerhead, inverted flight — and the management of spin departures.

The programme

Theory covers aerobatic aerodynamics, the physiology of g-load, regulation and the construction of a sequence. In flight, the progression runs from the fundamental figures to their sequencing, up to full autonomy.

Aerobatic flights are also available outside the rating, as discovery or refresher flights with an instructor.
