It is the most legitimate question a candidate can put to a flight school: where does your training lead? Rather than answer with generalities, this autumn we contacted our former IFR and CPL graduates and asked them where they fly today. Their answers are published — with their written consent, and after verification against our training records — on the alumni page. Around thirty journeys are already online.
Very different cockpits
The picture that emerges is anything but a single trajectory. There are First Officers and captains at Ryanair, Brussels Airlines, Luxair, Wizz Air, easyJet, Volotea and Air France — on the Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Dash 8 Q400, Embraer and A350. There is cargo and its wide-bodies, with ASL Airlines Belgium and Air Belgium on the Boeing 747; business aviation, from an Airbus ACJ318 based in Dubai to a Pilatus PC-12 operated out of Charleroi; and aviation careers beyond the flight deck, from the civil aviation administration to theory instruction. The band of airlines employing our alumni now counts more than forty logos.
Journeys, not recipes
Almost all of them followed the modular track, often alongside a job, over two to four years. Some retrained past the age of thirty; others went from cadet to line flying to command. What they take away from it rarely sounds like a slogan. “A superb school less than three hours from Paris, at half or even a third of the price,” writes Johan, now a First Officer at Volotea. Tommy, First Officer at Luxair, sums up his method: “Persevere, never give up, sacrifice your weekends to study — and once all the licences are in your pocket: DARE.”
